Every mission is a real scenario with a real problem and no script. These pages give your instructional team the run time, the crew stations, the standards coverage, and the prerequisites, so you can decide whether it fits your calendar before you ever get on a call with us.

What is an MSA mission?

An MSA mission is a live starship bridge scenario run on your campus by a crew of five to six students, each at a defined station, for 30 to 90 minutes. The scenario adapts to crew decisions, so there is nothing to memorize and no way to fake it. The Mission Analysis System records role labeled communication and telemetry throughout, and your staff receives crew performance reports after the visit. Two mission templates are currently published for schools: The Meridian Rescue for grades 6 to 8, and Intolerance for AP and honors physics.

Both missions run on the same bridge with the same instrumentation. A campus day can mix them.

The Meridian Rescue

Grades 6 to 8 // 30 minutes // rescue under pressure

A routine patrol turns urgent when a civilian transport carrying 200 colonists comes under pirate attack. Students coordinate across five bridge stations to intercept, protect, and rescue before time runs out.

Broadest middle school coverage in our catalog: 20 TEKS Student Expectations across ELA oral language, science practices, mathematics, and technology applications. No prerequisite knowledge, which makes it the safest first booking for a campus that has never done this.

Intolerance: Liberation and Diplomacy

Grades 11 to 12 // 90 minutes // AP Physics capstone

An asteroid will strike Mars in 72 hours. The crew reaches Mars orbit, passes a physics certification exam at Research Lab R-1, and executes a precision deflection using Newtonian mechanics.

This is not a game dressed up as physics. The physics is the mission. Impulse and momentum, conservation of momentum, kinetic energy transfer, and center of mass all appear as work the crew has to do before the deflection will run.

How to choose

Pick by what the day has to accomplish.

You want the most students through

The Meridian Rescue. At 40 minutes a cycle, a full day moves up to 50 students through one bridge and up to 100 through two, with every crew leaving evidence behind.

You want a physics unit to land

Intolerance. Run it after momentum, impulse, and energy are taught. Students apply what they learned with a consequence attached, and you get exam results plus the crew transcript.

You are not sure yet

Start with The Meridian Rescue. It has no prerequisite, the widest standards coverage, and the shortest cycle, so a first campus day proves the concept to your staff before you scale it.
